  Enjoy a little secret between West Branch and Tawas City. Not many people know about the area so it doesn't attract crowds and it's always quiet. The little secret we're talking about is Loon Lake, a premiere 440-acre all-sports lake. Loon Lake is spring-fed and is sparkling clear. There is plenty of room to fish, swim, ski, or just enjoy the beauty of a sunset from our cabin's outdoor deck. Our cottage sleeps 6 and has a queen bed, a double bed, and 2 twin beds.

Our 2 ½ bedroom cabin offers a fantastic west view of the lake, and birch trees and pines galore. The deck offers a patio table with 4 chairs. Walk down the wood steps to a sandy beach where you can swim or build a bonfire at night. There is also a patio table and 4 chairs located at the beach for your convenience. Continue on to the 60-foot wood dock and cast your fishing pole and catch bass and large pan fish. Or motor your boat out to one of the many sandbar drop-offs in this 130-foot crystal clear lake and catch walleye.

If you enjoy quiet time in the woods then just step out the door and turn right. There is a private dirt road where you can look for ladyslipper and other Michigan wildflowers. Or drive 2 miles east and hike the trails in the Huron National Forest and walk for miles.

With trailheads starting at only 10 minutes away, you have access to many miles of off-road trails in Huron National Forest. Or you can rent canoes along the AuSable River. A nice 18-hole golf course is just 10 minutes away also.

About the town- Good things always come in twos. Hale is 2 miles away. It has 2 grocery stores, 2 gas stations, 2 hardware stores, 2 restaurants and 2 bars.

Directions to 7500 O'Connor: from I-75 North, Exit 202 (right), proceed north on M-33 for 10 miles until the first traffic light. Turn right on M-55 and go east for 15 miles. Turn left on M-65 and go about 9 miles to Schellenbarger Rd (left). Proceed on Schellenbarger until it dead ends (1/2 mile). Turn left on O'Connor and go ¼ mile. Cabin is on the lakeside.
